Commercial Construction Superintendent

Mid-Land Enterprises is actively seeking a highly motivated Project Superintendent for a key position within our rapidly growing company.  The ideal candidate will have a Project Management/Construction Management degree or equivalent experience.  Effective communication skills are required to clearly assemble scopes of work, plan the work, track project budget, and see projects through to completion. This includes professional documenting and verbal skills to ensure quality communication with our customers and our team.  Experience with Excel, Microsoft Projects, and Procore is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs 
• Direct liaison to the owner and all tradesmen involved with project
• Set performance goals and deadlines
• Plan construction processes
• Estimate costs and ensure the project is on budget 
• Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback 
• Monitor and report on project progress
• Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities
• Experience and clear understanding in Civil, Architectural, Structural and MEP blueprints
• Implement safety and quality guidelines
• Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance
• Keep track of material stock and orders
• Hold trades accountable and oversees terms of construction contracts
• Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
• Resolve on-site issues and emergencies
• Holds weekly site meetings with all subcontractors onsite, schedules and coordinates manpower, equipment, and material requirements
• Reporting daily work logs thru Procore software
• Doing daily quality control on all work completed by different trades
• Reporting RFI’s to project manager in a timely manner

Requirements and skills

• Previous experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar role
• Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
• Knowledge of site-specific building codes
• In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Procore project management software
• Organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to lead and inspire
• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field; Master’s degree is a plus
